Sugar & Spice Baby Shower

Last weekend, we celebrated mommy-to-be Tiffany and baby Evelyn with an all pink, Sugar & Spice themed baby shower! This was my first time hosting a baby shower and it was so fun to put together all of the details from the food, to the decorations, to the games & prizes.

And guess what?  I am going to share it with you in case you ever need ideas for an all pink, Sugar & Spice themed baby shower!

It’s a lot, but I will do my best to organize it in the following pictures, downloads and descriptions. Enjoy!

The Invitation

The Food
  •  Included on the food table, was a menu of what was being served. This was a nice touch as far as decoration goes and it was convenient to not have to explain each food item.

  • Mommy-to-be cravings?  Also included, was a platter with one thing that the mommy-to-be has been craving during pregnancy. Wouldn’t you know…this was the first thing she went for on the food table!

The Decorations

  • This baby shower was everything pink! So, there were pink balloons, pink signs, and pink ribbons. There was also a pink banner that said Sugar & Spice above the presents table.

  • I made my first “Diaper Cake.” It was fun to learn how to put it together and add all the cute toys & ribbons (you can find tutorials on YouTube.)
The Games/Activities

  • Instead of a guest book to sign, we did “Make A Wish." Each guest made a wish for baby Evelyn and put it up on the wall for everyone to see. After the shower, the mommy-to-be could put it in a scrapbook or in the back of her baby book.  {PDF Printable: Make A Wish}
  • Do you remember doing “Mad Libs” as a kid? I sure do! We filled in a Mad Lib about the mommy-to-be’s delivery story. We went around the room and I asked each guest to give me an adjective, a location, etc., until each blank was filled in. Then I read the story! It’s definitely good for some laughs. {PDF Printable: Baby Shower Mad Lib}
  • Measure the Belly. Everyone cut a piece of yarn the size that they thought would fit around the mommy-to-be’s tummy. Then I measured the mommy-to-be’s tummy with another piece of yarn to see who was the closest. {PDF Printable: Measure The Belly}
  • Thank You Cards.  The mommy-to-be is a busy lady, making a human being and all.  So, the guests addressed their own 'Thank You' cards.  This way, the mommy-to-be could cross one more thing off of her list!
  • Baby shower bingo! In my opinion, it’s always nice for the guests to have something to do while the mommy of honor is opening her gifts. I passed out a blank, 5x5 grid, with a “free” in the middle. Then each person filled out their bingo card with gifts they thought might be opened. The first person with 5 in a row was the winner! {PDF Printable: Baby Shower Bingo}
  • Diaper Raffle. Guests brought a bag of diapers and put their name in for the drawing. The mommy-to-be got a head start on stockpiling diapers and a lucky guest got a prize! {PDF Printable: Diaper Raffle}
  • Prizes!  Each person who won a game received hand soap or lotion from Bath & Body Works wrapped in a clear cellophane bag, tied with pink ribbon. The scent? Pink Sugarplum, of course!
The Favors

  • Sugar or Spice? Each person went home with either a Cinnamon Spice or a Vanilla Sugar jar candle, with a personalized label.
That’s pretty much it! Please feel free to use the printables & let me know how your Sugar & Spice baby shower goes!

  10. I am getting ready to throw a "Sugar and Spice" baby shower in two weeks. I'm definitely using your pdf forms for the baby bingo and the diaper raffle. I had these ideas already but I LOVE the forms and it makes it just one less thing for me to do. :) The shower you threw was super cute! I hope mine goes off just as well! Thanks for posting all of this!!

  11. This is by far the best one I have seen! I have selected this as my shower theme as well, and ironically; my first name is Cinnamon! My baby girl is due in February and I wanted to know where you got the mini scented candles from? I was thinking to order them, but if I can go to a store to get it then I would be more than willing to pick them up.
